ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The department has an annual intake of 60 students and offers a comprehensive curriculum aligned with current industrial requirements. The programme includes core and emerging subjects such as Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, Control and Instrumentation, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Solid State Drives, High Voltage Engineering, and Power System Engineering.
To enhance practical learning and research capabilities, the department is equipped with advanced engineering design and analytical software tools, including MATLAB/SIMULINK with relevant toolboxes, PSCAD, and AU Power Lab for Power System Simulation studies. These facilities provide students with hands-on experience in analysis, modelling, simulation, and design of modern electrical engineering systems.
The Department is supported by a dedicated team of highly qualified, talented, and experienced faculty members committed to academic excellence and student development. All faculty members possess postgraduate qualifications with significant teaching, research, and academic experience. In addition, the Department is assisted by a team of qualified and committed supporting staff who contribute effectively to the smooth functioning of academic and laboratory activities.
